Semen/Stud Sires
To help increase the speed of improvement in your herd, we are now offering semen from our specially selected Stud sires, the sires that we use in our own herd.
There will be sons sired by these same bulls, available in the years ahead for you to view and purchase.
Colin spends many hours looking for the right stud sires to complement and improve the Prime Herd. They must have strong pedigrees, be hoof improvers, have strong growth from birth to 600 days, good carcase and high fertility.

Texas Moe R700
Primes latest purchase, in July 2021 at the Texas Bull Sale, for $55,000.
An impressive young bull, he stands proud and is long bodied, straight backed, with a strong head and good silky skin. An athletic bull with exceptional feet and structure. He has an excellent spread of figures +4.0 for birth to +143 for 600DW, +10.2 for EMA, +1.5 for RBY AND IN TOP 10% of breed for all Selection Indexes.

Granite Ridge Quicksilver Q12
Purchased at the Granite Ridge Bull Sale in February for $20,000. He was Colin’s pick for structural correctness, strong pedigree (giving confidence in his future breeding), exceptional figures – being in the top 5% for all Angus breeding Indexes. His sire TeMania Mortlake M1484 was purchased by us, at Granite Ridge, for $26,000. We look forward to seeing his calves on the ground.

TeMania Qorinth Q1225
Purchased at the TeMania Bull Sale in March 2021 for $22,000. There is a lot to like about this young bull, he has a strong pedigree, excellent structure and top EBV’s. He is in the top 3% of the angus breed for all Breeding Indexes, SS, Rib Fat, Rump Fat and IMF which is +6.1.

Rennylea K447
He came with us from Granite Ridge Angus in SA. We purchased him in 2015 at the Rennylea Bull sale for $20,000. He has bred, and continues to breed well for us, he is still structurally sound, with brilliant feet at 7 years old. His first calves hit the ground at Prime in 2021. An elite sire with nearly 300 progeny analysed..

Granite Ridge Payweight P16
Purchased in 2020, at the Granite Ridge Bull Sale. The joining of two great pedigrees – Jagger and the Imran Rosebud families. Moderate birth, strong growth and positive fat. His first calves hit the ground at Prime Angus in 2021 – the calves are impressive, being thick and strong.

Granite Ridge Punisher P216
There is some strong breeding behind this bull. His Sire was powerful and thick, being purchased in 2015 for $16,000, and his great grand dam was one of Colins favourite cows, Narrangullen Emillesque S67, who was purchased for $26,000. Punisher has amazing feet, is powerful, but is extraordinarily agile for his size. Anyone who sees him, always asks – ‘who is that’. First calves born at prime in 2021.

Prime Beast Mode R10
Top Priced bull, purchased for $27,000 at the Prime Spring Sale. A standout Beast Mode son, being structurally correct and having a quality skin. Prime R10’s figures match his looks – Birth of +3.4 to 600 Day Weight +152. He weighed 830kg at 18 months. He is in the top 2% for 200DW, 400DW, 600DW, CW and all Selection Indexes.
Prime will be using him in the spring mating.

Kenny’s Creek Momentous R123
Top Priced yearling, purchased for $20,000 at the Prime Spring Sale. R123 brings extra length and frame, with impeccable legs and feet. A powerful growth bull, with all growth and Carcase Weight EBV’s being in the top 5% of the Angus breed. He weighed 668kg at 13 months.
